Bugfix: night count

When using a night train for more than one night, the "Nights on Trains" statistic is now increased correctly.

Bugfix: imports

We have fixed an issue that affected all imports and may led to a 404 page when submitting corrected trips.

Expense statistics

A new statistics page (https://viaduct.world/statistics/expenses) provides insights related to trip costs, savings, and travel passes. Costs in foreign currencies are converted to your preferred currency to allow easier comparisons. Further expense KPIs will be released in upcoming weeks.

Waypoints

We have implemented waypoints (non-station via points, operational points) to provide more flexibility when adding trips and to track routes more accurately by including locations that are not regular stations.

Station + network update in Japan

We have thoroughly updated Japan’s station data and railway network. Stations are now duplicated for multi-line hubs and clearly assigned to a specific line (e.g., Kyushu Shinkansen). This should help prevent routing issues.

Fixed routing error in Bulgaria

We’ve fixed an error in our rail network in Bulgaria that prevented our trip editor from finding the correct routes.

Routing network update

We’ve refreshed the train and ferry routing network for better accuracy. Minor routing quirks are fixed, and the missing ferry ports in the Stockholm area are now included.

Mobile navigation improvements

We've reworked the mobile menu to be more responsive. Scrolling glitches are now fixed and navigating on your phone should feel better.

Performance improvements and display of routes

We’ve made major behind-the-scenes upgrades to boost overall performance and fix issues with displaying your routes on the map. Everything should feel faster and more reliable now — and your travel lines are back where they belong!

Trip preview navigation

You can now go to the next and previous trip directly from the trip preview.

Station coverage

With station coverage you can see where you have already stopped with a train and which stations are still missing. The feature shows an overview by country and an interactive map to find unvisited stations. We distinguish between a visited station (you boarded or disembarked) and an intermediate stop (your train stopped, you stayed on board). Updates happen every 24 hours based on your recorded trips. See the map and statistics pages.

More coverage updates for viaduct Patrons

viaduct Patrons can now trigger one additional route coverage update every 24 hours. We're also improving the reliability of automatic updates. If you like what we're building, consider supporting us by signing up as a patron or purchasing a print map – it helps us scale our servers and provide more frequent computations.
